To succeed as an investor/professional in this industry your human relationship skills must be excellent. In agricultural business, you’re dealing majorly with human beings for execution majority of which might be illiterate.
In Nigeria as an example most of the people that would be working with you may not understand your language. As a Yoruba man, you may be working with about 40 Hausa men on your farm. You may probably be forced to rely on sign language or even an interpreter to effectively convey your messages and interact with them.
From experience, most of the people in the host communities of farms are not very relaible. Such an observation will necessitate that you bring people in from outside the community. This comes with it a measure of language barrier. You must therefore be patient while communicating for your projects to be well executed and on schedule.
